3 & 4 Year

Offering an Enriching Preschool Program to Sierra Vista, AZ

Welcoming Your 3- and 4-Year-Olds

Great Expectations ELC offers the perfect transitional program for students growing from toddlerhood into preschool age.

Our childcare center has a special classroom devoted to this age range, and we’re capable of enrolling up to 26 students, who will get the educational benefit of having two teachers, though our common class size is usually much smaller than 26. To promote a healthy learning atmosphere, this classroom is licensed for potty-trained children only.

How Our Lessons are Formatted

For students in this program, our lesson plans are based on the Arizona Early Learning Standards. All of these activities fit into the domains of social-emotional health, language and literacy, cognitive growth, mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, and physical development. Lesson plans are posted weekly so parents can expect to see what their children will learn the following week. In addition to these activities, children go outside to our biggest playground (rated 2-10 years) twice a day. Some activities on the playground are teacher-directed and there is also plenty of time for “free play.”

All children are assessed three times a year. We ask you to provide a three-ring binder to facilitate your child’s education and development. This binder will hold the assessments as well as observations and samples of their artwork over the course of the year. The books will be given to parents at the end of the school year.
